Another Sample Student Activity
This assignment can be carried out through the first four items only, or can be continued further down the developmental process as time and resources permit. By identifying and interviewing relevant stakeholders, students are able to:
- Seek out the hidden cultural assumptions that have shaped other world views invested in power relationships, individual versus societal tensions, and short-term versus long-term outcome attainment.
- Identify ethical tensions between power relationships, the needs of the individual versus the community, and the interests of short-term versus long-term outcome attainment.
- Highlight ambiguities, fallacious reasoning, and lack of clarity in media presentations of political events.
- Create policy analyses that incorporate aspects of power, tension, and time horizon.
